The Role

• This position is a driver in the Global Homologation and Safety Engineering team with the primary objectives of executing and analyzing vehicle level coastdown homologation and development tests for domestic and APAC markets, as well as coordinating overseas team activities, ensuring safe and reliable performance, and conducting tests in strict accordance with Tesla test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute Tesla coastdown test plans and procedures, including recording and analyzing test data, documenting findings, and reporting results in a professional manner.
• Collaborate closely with the coastdown test technician team to ensure test execution aligns with global test guidelines and promptly report any anomalies.
• Interpret and optimize data processing code generated using MATLAB or Python tools.
• Support senior coastdown test engineers in managing test specifications, test vehicles and test equipment.
• Communicate effectively with personnel from third-party testing facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering, having foundational knowledge of vehicle dynamics from an accredited institution in China or abroad.
• ≤3 years’ work experience, with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
• Strong practical skills with experience in hardware design or software development projects completed during academic projects, internships or working record.
• Proven driving skills and willingness to work onsite at testing locations and participate in periodic outdoor track testing.
• Proficiency in CAN data and VBOX data acquisition and analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with domestic and international regulations regarding energy consumption and driving range testing is preferred.
• Proficient in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and supporting rapid product development requirements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize key points and provide timely feedback on-site conditions.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their application in data processing and analysis.
