SOC Software Architect Introduction We are seeking a SOC Software Architect focusing on software development for ARM architecture-based server CPUs. Responsibilities •Define the overall software architecture for ARM server SoCs, covering the entire stack from boot firmware (UEFI/ATF) to operating system kernel, device drivers, virtualization, and core runtime components. •Develop and execute the software ecosystem strategy, including Linux distribution enablement, virtualization (KVM/QEMU) solution roadmap, and container runtime support to accelerate the adoption of our CPU products in cloud service provider server clusters. •Collaborate deeply with the chip architecture team to define hardware-software interface specifications, including register definitions, interrupt models, power management interfaces, and error reporting mechanisms, ensuring software fully unlocks the hardware's performance potential. Basic Qualifications •B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. •10+ years of progressive software development experience, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on system-level software architecture design experience. •Proven track record of delivering complete software stacks for ARM server or data center CPUs from concept to production. •In-depth understanding of Linux kernel architecture, with extensive experience in kernel customization, driver frameworks, memory management, interrupt subsystems, and performance optimization. •Proficient in UEFI/EDK2 framework and ARM Trusted Firmware, with hands-on experience implementing complete server boot chains. •Experience designing and implementing RAS (Reliability/Availability/Serviceability) software frameworks for high-availability server systems. •Familiarity with ARM Neoverse core architectures and server-class IP blocks (PCIe Gen5, DDR5, CXL). •Familiarity with ARM System Ready and Server Ready certification standards and ecosystem enablement methodologies. •In-depth understanding of server-grade security architectures, including hardware root of trust, secure boot, and trusted execution environments. •Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance architecture design productivity and solve complex technical problems.
